Bio
I’m an ST5 orthopaedic registrar currently doing my rotations in the East Midlands South deanery. Originally from Zimbabwe, I relocated to the United Kingdom for pastures green after a few years of working as a junior doctors post medical training. Since relocating to the United Kingdom, and with the help of great trainers and mentors I've managed to work my way up and develop my craft as a budding surgeon. I completed an MSc in Trauma and orthopaedics science at Queen Mary's University of London through which I managed to get 2 publications, and I continue give back in medical education by teaching both junior doctors and medical students in the UK and in Africa.
I am enthusiastic about teaching, and I’ve enhanced my skills by attending courses such as the Teach
the Teacher course and I am also an ATLS trainer. In my current rotation have taken up the role of the
junior doctor teaching providing insightful orthopaedic oriented weekly teaching to the doctors in the
department.
Outside medicine I find myself drawn to nature particularly enjoying hiking and cycling in the countryside. At heart I'm also an animal conservationist particularly drawn to the conservation of the African elephant an animal that is a family totem. I’m also a passionate about sports, having strong vested interests in football, rugby, tennis and cricket. Now and again, I can be found in a football pitch rolling back the years kicking about a football with mates.
